About The Granny Squared

Hi. I’m Lynda, also known as The Granny. It seems like a title for a little old lady, but I am far from old. The Granny is short for the granny square–a common crochet pattern. In case you haven’t guessed–I love to crochet! I started crocheting in elementary school and I have not stopped.

When each of my children were born, I crocheted booties and blankets for them. This was when I learned that my craft and skill set were marketable. The cute booties I created were not my own design, but they were unique and in demand. This was way back before the wonderful websites like Etsy, Craftsy, and Ravelry.

As my skills developed over the years and my kids got older, I learned new skills. Now, my crochet has taken a turn to garments, blankets, jewelry, and items for the home. I design my own patterns. This is a new venue for me and I am starting to market my patterns on the internet. You can find them on Etsy and Craftsy.

In addition to crochet, I love to sew. The vintage sewing but has bitten me and styles from the 20’s and 70s. In high school I was a hippie chick (that was my nickname) and I still love the boho style of the mid to late 70s. Throughout the years I have amassed a huge collection of sewing patterns. Unfortunately, many of them no longer fit me due to a mastectomy. You can see my large collection on Etsy.com  Maybe one of my patterns will be just what you are looking for.

The Granny Squared is located in the beautiful Ozark Mountains in Northwest Arkansas. I live there with my hubby and 3 kids, 3 dogs, and 14 hens. We try to grow most of our own produce on our little suburban lot.

Glad you stopped by. Hope you enjoy your visit.
